The erstwhile residence of Nawab Khusro Jung Bahadur - the son of Major General Nawab Sir Afsur-ul-Mulk Bahadur, Chief Commander of Regular Forces in Hyderabad State during the period of the Nizam-VI. Nawab Khusro Jung died in 1930.
The building situated on a hillock between Lakdi-ka-pul and Masab Tank was constructed in 1920. It is divided into several rooms and was housing the Census Department.
As per sources it belonged to Nida Khan, granddaughter of Major General Nawab Khusro Jung Bahadur. He was a minister in the Nizam’s government. For some time, he was the minister of temples in Kashmir, then the PM of Kashmir. Khusro Manzil was his residence. His son Ali Khusro Jung also lived there. He later sold it to his younger sister. After that it changed hands many times.”
The HCC expired in March last year and a new one has not been constituted. The Khusro Manzil currently belongs to Yousuf & Company, a supplying company and also a real estate firm and is owned by Mohd. Masood. A letter (No. 8284/i1/07) dated May 2, 2007, was sent by the government along with a representation from Mr Mohd. Masood for demolition of Khusro Manzil, to the HCC and was rejected.
