The famous ‘Tipu’s Lookout’ at Lakdikapul is all set to be history (The Siasat -26-01-2018)

(The Siasat -26-01-2018)

Once seen as a lookout point for the people entering into the limits of Hyderabad city, the rocks near the famous ‘Tipu’s Lookout’ at Lakdikapul chiseled and ground to dust. No surprise if this spot is overlooked as just another heritage sites losing to encroachers. The lookout was constructed by Tipu Khan Bahadur, one of the Confidant and Equestrian trainer of H.E. Mir Mahboob Ali Pasha the sixth Nizam nearly 150 years ago to keep an eye on any enemy trying enter into the city and also to get a perfect view of city monuments. Tipu’s Lookout was built by Tipu Khan Bahadur nearly 150 years ago as a watchtower for keeping an eye on any enemy trying to spring a surprise on the tented city near Fateh Maidan.
The location lost its importance and the city expanded enveloping everything. Trekkers have also used the rock for climbing and exploring the city for some time.
